| Wind, Land & Water Sports promotes being active and being outdoors. We offer Stand Up Paddle Board Rentals, which allow you to explore Lake Norman in a unique way. Stand Up Paddling, also known as ‘SUP’, is a cross between surfing and kayaking. Standing on a board similar to a surfboard, but much larger and more stable, you paddle through the water with a a single blade paddle that is taller than the paddler. You can propel yourself through the water and explore small coves, see wildlife on the shore, see fish in the water, do some fishing, generate a workout, and much more. This sport is so diverse. You can even take along a passenger or two, including your water friendly pets. In addition, we offer ‘SUP’ lessons, ‘SUP’ tours, and can help you customize a nice workout routine. We also specialize in Land Paddling, which is a cross between skateboarding and stand up paddling. |

| We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote high standards of seamanship and navigation and safe boating for all. Our squadron, located in the beautiful Lake Norman, NC area, includes sail and power boats. We currently have over 140 members. Several times a year, we teach our Public Boating Safety classes - America's Boating Course - for the general public. (These classes are approved for certification to operate Personal Watercraft by persons 14 to 16 years of age in accord with N.C. State law.) Squadron members are eligible to take our advanced courses taught by qualified instructors. These begin with basic seamanship and continue on through piloting, advanced piloting, junior navigation to the advanced classes in navigation. Elective courses available for member participation include marine electronics, sail, engine maintenance, cruise planning, weather, and many other areas of boating interest. Members also participate in special boating safety programs and civic activities working toward the improvement of boating safety conditions. In addition to this, we have a very active social schedule filled with fun. You are invited to come and join us. |
