To Our Visitors: Post-Hurricane Helene

Lake Norman is safe and open for travel following Hurricane Helene. While we are fortunate to avoid the worst, our hearts go out to those who have been affected in neighboring regions. For those in need, we currently have limited hotel room availability for individuals displaced by the hurricane. Western NC Travel Advisory

Testimonials

"As a lifelong resident, I have seen the positive impact from the efforts of Visit Lake Norman in establishing Lake Norman as an exceptional fishing tournament location. We have the best of the best that will continue to come, because Visit Lake Norman has worked hard to maintain a reputation for professionalism and execution, while also taking care to protect our valuable resource. So many of my fellow anglers and their families have told me they feel truly welcomed every time they visit. I am very appreciative of the support from Visit Lake Norman and proud to be their sponsored angler. Because of Visit Lake Norman, I get to promote my incredible home lake while on the national tour circuit as a great fishing destination and tournament location." ~Brent Long, Professional Angler and Local Humanitarian (Pictured Above)

"I have worked closely with Visit Lake Norman for a year now and they are truly some of the nicest and easiest people to work with. They are all very dedicated to their work and have a lot of pride in what they do. Visit Lake Norman is always quick to offer a helping hand into any situation that will better tourism and the local community, and that goes well beyond just filling hotel rooms. I have taken advantage of this opportunity on many occasions whether it was having VLN aid in enhancing a website, sending out a press release, or the preparation of a grand opening. I would describe them as a business with an open door policy. I know I can pick up the phone or drop in on them anytime and will always be treated well and in a professional manner." ~Huntington Daly, Hampton Inn Cornelius and Hampton Inn & Suites Huntersville â€‹

"Whether it is the anglers filling up their boats and trucks or the soccer tournament moms buying gas and snacks, we really appreciate Visit Lake Norman bringing so much new business to our area!" ~ Gordon Cashion, Cashion's Quick Stops

"Thanks for all you do to bring events like this (Asian Festival & Dragon Boat Festival in May 2011)  to our area. They (Dragon Boat Team participating in the Dragon Boat Races) had a great time."  ~Jane Blackwell, District Director of Sales at Country Suites Lake Norman

"I was very pleased with the outcome of the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open last week (March 2011). The 178 boats was another strong field and I'm sure they made some impact on the community during their stay. I know the Days Inn(Cornelius) was chucked full of anglers... The registration venue at Michael Waltrip Racing ultimately work very well and certainly was a first in my experience. I know some of my staff took the tour on Friday and enjoyed it. I will say that Sid (Sadlowski) and his staff were extremely nice and accommodating. Blythe Landing is a perfect fit for a tournament field of this size and the park staff was great to work with. Finally, I want to thank you, Sally Ashworth (Executive Director) and all those at Visit Lake Norman and its' partners. Please share with them B.A.S.S.'s appreciation for all the support and the efforts they made to make this a great event for all involved. I very much look forward to working together again." ~ Chris Bowes - SR. Tournament Manager, B.A.S.S.

"The Bradford Store is most grateful to Visit Lake Norman for giving our store experience to so many new customers. We are a small business with no advertising budget...word of mouth has been key to increasing customer base. The groups that have come out to the store on tours with VLN have enthusiastically embraced our goal of saving this piece of Mecklenburg County and supporting local businesses. Many new customers have come to us as a result of "a friend of mine came out with a tour and told me about you". We thank VLN for their support. Without them we would not be on the weekly schedule of shopping for so many people." ~Kim Bradford, The Bradford Store

"North Meck Soccer Club is proud and honored to be partners with Visit Lake Norman. In just two years we have seen tremendous growth in our tournaments as a direct result of our partnership. Our club, towns and community benefit from the tournaments directly and we're excited about the future growth. The professionalism of Visit Lake Norman is captured with the direct positive feedback we receive from our participants." ~Thomas Finlay, North Meck Soccer Club

"Visit Lake Norman has helped Davidson Chocolate Company reach greater visibility through their marketing efforts. We have been included on the tours in the spring that reach hotel operators who in turn share great places to visit in the Lake Norman region. Much new business has developed through these tours. VLN also shares our chocolate fish, boats, and anchors with visiting groups to help make their visit a little more memorable and sweeter! We also have helped VLN attract groups with creative chocolate gifts that are tailored to the group. We have a great partnership and value it tremendously!" ~John and Sue Elliot, Davidson Chocolate Company
