The calendar will stay full all year with exciting events around the lake! Begin planning for a good time on the Lakeside of Charlotte with friends and family by browsing some of the annual festivals and events listed below for 2023-24.
The Town’s Concerts @ the Circles concert series take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month on Jetton Street near Clean Juice (605 D, Jetton St). These will go from 5-9pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family, comfy chairs or a blanket, a picnic, and to come early to find spots.
The Town’s traditional concert series, Concerts on the Green, hosts concerts on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on the Town Green. Please note that the concerts on April 28 and June 16 are on Sundays, and July 4 is on a Thursday this year.
Birkdale Village has the ultimate strolling shopping experience planned for ladies! Put on your best, grab your besties, and join Birkdale Village along The Parkway for special deals from their restaurants and retailers. The fun starts at 5pm, check in at Concierge to get your stroll map, raffle tickets, and a complimentary glass of champagne (while supplies last). NEW THIS YEAR, join them for the exclusive Ladies Night Out After Party from 6pm-8pm featuring specialty cocktails, raffles, a live DJ and more!
Celebrate Dad with a visit to the Raptor Trail! In honor of Father's Day, all fathers will receive FREE admission on Sunday, June 16. Make lasting memories by walking their 3/4 mile trail, meeting with more than 30 avian ambassadors, and catching a special educational program at 11am, 1pm, or 2:30pm.
Start your weekends unwinding with live musical performances in the Plaza every Friday evening from April to October. Grab your friends and family and get ready to dance the night away!
A bar will be onsite in the designated area provided by Red Rocks for beverage needs. It is recommended to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. Seating space may be limited. Parking is available in parking garages and surface lots near Regal, Dick's Sporting Goods, Total Wine and Midwood Smokehouse. Valet is also available.
Looking for a fun family outing to escape the house this summer? Family movie nights are returning to Lake Norman, offering the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful warm evenings. Swap your usual Netflix routine for an unforgettable outdoor experience. These movies are free, so just remember to bring a blanket or chair! For more information, read here.
Swing by Cain Park (21336 Catawba Avenue) for lunch on the first and last Friday of the month, June through August (except for July 5). Bring your friends, family, and co-workers and enjoy lunch from one of the delicious food trucks they have scheduled. The picnic tables at Cain Plaza will be available for seating.
Founded in 1932, the Charlotte Symphony is the largest and most active professional performing arts organization in the central Carolinas, giving nearly 70 performances each season and reaching an annual attendance of 130,000 listeners.

Rural Hill Corn Maze

A yearly festival is held in Huntersville, NC. There are plenty of great vendors and activities for the family. The community hosts this event, and is free to attend.
The Renaissance Festival is a 16th-century European-style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, an arts and crafts marketplace, a jousting tournament, a feast fit for royalty, and much, much more. It will be taking place every Saturday and Sunday!
Downtown Davidson is beautiful, especially in the fall. The Ghosts of Davidson tour allows visitors to see the town's history. The tour is a scary walk, 1-mile walk that lasts about 90 minutes. The website mentions this event is not for all ages.
What better way to wrap up the fall season than with your canine pal and several hundred of their new best friends? Bring your family, friends, and dog(s) to this fun-filled festival for one of the area's best-known dog events! At this event, there is plenty to do, and food, drink, merchandise, and much more are available for purchase while attending.
Get in the spirit and join in the festivities on the lake! Holidays spent at Lake Norman are not a disappointment and will bring you jingling back to the area for years to come! A few notable Christmas events include Christmas in Davidson, the North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade, The Huntersville Christmas, A Candlelight Christmas, and the Lighted Boat Parade.
