Lake Norman has quickly distinguished itself as an amateur sports event hub. Every year more sports events call Lake Norman home. No matter what sport, Lake Norman can host it. Let Visit Lake Norman assist you with your next amateur sports event.

College Sports

Visit Lake Norman has played host to a wide-range of collegiate events over the years.  From the NCAA Men’s Soccer College Cup in 1992 on the campus of Davidson College to more recently the Bassmaster College Series fishing tournament in 2019 to the Crown Lacrosse Classic in 2020, which featured six of the top college lacrosse programs in the country including a matchup between #2 ranked Cornell vs #5 ranked Penn St.

Endurance Sports

Lake Norman is home to the annual Huntersville Half Marathon & Holiday 5/10K, the Lake Norman Fondo (cycling) in the summer and the Charlotte Dragon Boat Races in the spring.  No matter what endurance sport, Lake Norman has a route and venue for it.
